Communication Science Disorders

​Requirements:

  1. Students must take the transfer honors cohort literature class in their first semester at QC
  2. Honors in Social Sciences (HSS) 200 within their first year at QC

Music Track

Students with an academic core music class GPA of 3.5 can elect to pursue an honors option in music. Honors courses substitute for the correspondingly numbered academic courses and have the same prerequisites. This program provides an opportunity for qualified students to pursue advanced studies under the supervision of a full-time faculty member and to graduate with departmental honors. Honors courses are available in performance, musicology, theory and music education.  Interested students should contact the departmental honors coordinator. (718) 997-3800

Requirements:

  1. The transfer honors cohort literature class in their first semester at QC
  2. Two* H courses in the senior year (347H; 366H; 377H; 452H)
    • *Note: Students who are also pursuing a NY State teaching certificate take just one music honors course

Accounting Track

Transfer Honors Program – Accounting Track

Students must take 2 honors courses:

1.The transfer honors cohort literature class in their first semester at QC

2.One of the following in senior year: Accounting 391, 392, 393 or Economics 390, 391, 392W

Students must complete all degree requirements for Accounting, and maintain a GPA of 3.5 for all courses in the major. Students should apply for admission to the Accounting major as soon as they are accepted to QC.

Teacher Certification Track

Students who pursue the SEYS minor or EECE major must complete 2 honors classes:

1.​The transfer honors cohort literature class in their first semester at QC
2.Honors in Social Sciences (HSS) 200 within their first year at QC

* students may petition to pursue a 390 level research project tin their co -major in place of HSS 200

Family, Nutrition, and Exercise Science

Students must take 3 honors courses:

1.The transfer honors cohort literature class in their first semester at QC

2.HMNS 101 (Honors in Math and Natural Sciences) within their first year at QC

3. HMNS 102 (Laboratory Research)

 
Students must complete all degree requirements for FNES. Students should apply for admission to the FNES major as soon as they are accepted to QC.

Neuroscience Track

I​n the first semester at Queens College, s​tudents must take the transfer honors cohort literature class and choose at least 7 hours of coursework that count for the Neuroscience major.

Students must  complete all degree requirements for Neuroscience, and maintain a GPA of 3.5 for all courses in the major.
